OceanHero is a social business - what does this mean?

OceanHero doesn't operate other companies – The major difference is that for every search you do on OceanHero you help to save the oceans

OceanHero's mission is to raise funds to stop plastic and other harmful substances from entering our oceans to protect sea life as well as the global aquatic ecosystem and to prevent toxins from entering the human food chain.

As a social business, it is OceanHero's main objective to contribute to an environmental and social cause. Instead of focussing on maximizing our profit, our goal is to make sure a large share of the money we earn is spend to collect ocean-bound plastic.

Together with our partners, we can make sure that, on average, for every five searches one ocean-bound plastic bottle is collected. At the same time, these collection programs also support people in low-income countries, often living in harsh conditions.
